Today, our bloggers first met a fellow Canadian wine expert, Marco Pelletier, at his restaurant Vantre in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. He shared - around a delicious meal and great wines - his background, his profession as a sommelier, his projects as well as the history of his small Bordeaux vineyard.
Then, the bloggers had the chance to dine at the De Vinis Illustribus wine cellar. De Vinis Illustribus is well known by wine lovers from all over the world for its great wines and old vintages. Private wine tastings such as Moments around wine, Tasting lunches and Tasting dinners occur in its 17th century cellar in the heart of Paris, conducted by the owner Lionel Michelin. The wine cellar is a magical setting for tasting the finest or rarest wines. Accompanied by traditional dishes, the guest bloggers were able to taste exceptional vintages and learn more about oenology, a perfect introduction before heading the next day to the to vineyards.

Bienvenue au restaurant Vantre situé dans le 11e arrondissement de Paris, un incontournable pour les amateurs de cuisine du marché et de bon vin. Le menu change à chaque repas! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Welcome to Vantre restaurant. I had such an amazing lunch there! Food was amazing and the wine list is just insane. A must visit winelovers! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had the chance to meet with the owner Marco Pelletier, a Québécois that prior worked as a sommelier at many Michelin star restaurants, including at the famous Le Bristol Hotel before opening its restaurant Vantre in the Spring 2016. Marco also makes wine at Domaine de Galouchey, a tiny Bordeaux vineyard, do the assemblage at champagne Gonet in the Côte-des-Blancs and is about to start a new project in Bandol too! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let's go back for a minute to the wine list. This is an outstanding one with no less than 5,000 bottles (stored in 4 different cellars). ◀️ Swipe to see different pictures or the dishes, the restaurant, Marco, the cellar as well as an overview of the wine list! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had a wonderful time at @restaurant__vantre. I will definitely go back next time I'm in Paris @francefr
