In collaboration with Moma Group, chef Julien Sebbag (Chez Oim, Créatures, Je Cuisine chez Toi) sets up his experiential and gastronomic table on the roof terrace of Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, in front of his ephemeral restaurant Créatures. Accompanied by the signatures of Franklin Azzi (architect and artistic director of the pavilion and the rooftop terrace) and Pierre Marie (ornamentalist/artist), Tortuga opened its kitchen-counter on September 1, 2020.
The birth of Tortuga - in reference to the island of the Antilles - a bastion of pirates in the 17th century, is the result of a collaboration of three personalities passionate about their art: Julien Sebbag for the kitchen, Franklin Azzi for the architecture, and Pierre Marie for the decoration.
Tortuga is above all a mix of genres: from a gourmet restaurant around a star product - fish - to the human warmth and overflowing energy of chef Julien Sebbag, completed by an exceptional setting overlooking Paris. The architect Franklin Azzi and the ornamentalist Pierre Marie have united the strength of their writings in a contemporary pavilion, whose minimal steel structure serves as a backdrop to a phantasmagorical setting, for an unprecedented dialogue between art and architecture.
