Megève International Jazz Festival in the French Alps

For the past four years, the posh resort of Haute-Savoie in the Alpes has hosted a jazz festival that attracts more and more music lovers to its peaks to listen to internationally renowned artists. The next edition will run from March 28 to 30, 2020.

In Megève, the International Jazz Festival promises to blow the audience away this winter.

After Norah Jones, Gregory Porter, Macy Gray, Marcus Miller and Selah Sue came to ignite the stage in previous editions, this year the public will be able to applaud Kimberly Kitson Mills, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Thomas Dutronc.

Soul and jazz with Kimberose, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Thomas Dutronc

Songwriter Kimberly Kitson Mills, already nicknamed the “Diva of Soul” at just 28, will perform the debut album “Chapter One” with her band Kimberose on the opening night on Thursday, March 28.

Dee Dee Bridgewater needs no introduction. The American jazz singer will perform on Friday, March 29 at the International Jazz Festival in Megève with her album “Memphis… Yes, I’m ready”, which marks a true return to the artist’s musical roots.

At the end of the festival, guitarist singer Thomas Dutronc and his band “Les Esprits Manouches” take the stage to play tracks off of their new recording “Live is Love."

An off festival in the streets of the village of Megève

A jazzy novelty is part of the lineup this year, the “JAMY,” a “Young Talent" portion for four groups who have the honor of playing at the Palais in the first part of Kimberose. It's an unmissable evening at a unique price of 15€!

And also, true to the format of the International Jazz Festival in Megève, the festival off (free showings) hosts concerts in the square and in the streets of the village during the day. This year, the festival invites the Chaupiques brassband, who enchanted audiences during the 2017 edition.

Music, an additional opportunity to discover Megève

With its international reputation, Megève uses cultural events to distinguish itself. For the past eight years, the city has been organising a classical music festival in August (Les Estivales de Megève), as well as a jazz festival that takes place at the end of March, at its Palais des sports et des congrès.

Megève founded its chic reputation at the beginning of the twentieth century, when the Rotschild family decided to make it their personal resort, and to invent the winter sports resort à la française that we know today. Since then, it has been one of the most fashionable resorts in the Alps.

Megève is part, as well as Combloux and Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, of the Evasion Mont Blanc domain, containing no less than 450 km (279 miles) of ski slopes with a view of Mont-Blanc. It's winter magic like you've never seen it before!
