The Gliss & Mix altitude event will take place in the Vars La Forêt Blanche resort in the Alps on April 6 and 7. The event features two days of skiing and partying on the snow front, headlined by DJ The Avener's free concert!
This is the third edition of this free festival in the Alps, organized by Marseille's "Espoir au Sommet" association to help in the fight against cancer. For the 2019 edition of this sport & music event, the association has chosen the Vars La Forêt Blanche ski resort.
Saturday, April 6, 2019, a giant slalom will be available in the morning to the first 100 registered competitors, with rankings and awards between 9 am and 12 am. During the two days, a freefall airbag and a water-slide will be open to all! Online registration here (External link) .
“After-ski party”
The Avener will mix it up behind his turntables on Saturday for an "after-ski party". The French artist djs all around the world, finding his big break in 2014 with the title "Fade Out Lines." He followed this with his first album, 2015's The Wanderings, after producing for duo Stolen Car as well as Mylène Farmer and Sting. The DJ will go on at 5 pm, igniting the slopes-turned-dancefloor!
Vars is known as the "fastest resort in the world," thanks to its Chabrières track, where Italian skier Ivan Origone flashed down the slopes at 254.958km/h (158.4 miles/hour) in 2016, breaking the world record! Located in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes, this resort offers one of the largest ski areas in the Southern Alps: 115 miles of slopes spread between 1650 and 2750 meters (5413-9022 feet) above sea level!
