Monumental works, installations on public streets and artistic performances... For three days each autumn, contemporary art fever grips Paris.
An essential Parisian rendezvous for lovers of contemporary art, FIAC returns from 18-21 October 2018 to the Grand Palais for its 45th edition. The event presents, as always, a selection of works from modern, contemporary and design art galleries from all around the world.
Twenty-five countries – including, for the first time this year, Peru and Greece - are represented, offering a broad panorama of artistic creation since the beginning of the 20th century. Emerging artists also have their place, showcased in the Lafayette Sector, whose 2018 promotion brings together ten galleries that are off the beaten track.
Outside the walls
Beyond the Nave (which has the largest glass roof in Europe), the Salon d'Honneur and the Galeries Supérieures of the Grand Palais, the entire Avenue Winston Churchill vibrates to the rhythm of contemporary art. In the spirit of Paris’s famed Universal Exhibition of 1900, this main city artery, transformed into a pedestrian-only route for the occasion, becomes the jewel of sculptural works and artistic installations within the framework of FIAC Projects, whose coverage spreads to the Petit Palace.
