Four fabulous beachside hotels on the Côte d'Azur

When you dream of an azure blue sky and scents of summer, dining under the stars and swimming in the sea on a sunny day… There’s nowhere better than these updated hotels on the Côte d'Azur for a beautiful sunshine getaway. From Iconic Cannes-style to a hotel which feels as if it came from the pages of a novel from the Roaring Twenties - but with a designer feel: here are four fabulous beachside hotels…

Cheval Blanc, Saint-Tropez: An ode to the French Riviera

The hotel Cheval Blanc in Saint-Tropez has a unique and utterly outstanding seafront location. The former La Residence de la Pinède has been transformed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte into a 31-room luxury retreat. Lulled by the sound of the sea and the murmur of a majestic pine forest, the rooms are filled with light and brushed with the vibrant blue tones of the Cote d’Azur. With light oak furnishings, sandblasted glass and ceramic creations by artist Roger Capron, the wonderful transformation is complete. It extends to the triple-starred restaurant La Vague d'Or and the Guerlain spa. Guerlain even created an exclusive perfume “Riviera Chic” just for the hotel.

Hotel Les Roches Rouges, Saint-Raphael: Experience the Riviera way of life

At the foot of the Esterel massif, Les Roches Rouges is one of the Hôtels d'en Haut group which focus on authentic experiences. There’s nothing quite like a dip in its sea water swimming pool or floating in the swimming lane carved into the rock above the Mediterranean. There are two restaurants, one of which has a Michelin star, and their terrace is a simply sublime place to relax.
From the scrumptious menus, to the 47 beautifully decorated rooms and suites of this 5-star hotel with its many artworks reflecting how the area has inspired artists over the years, you can truly savour the art of the good life on the Côte d'Azur.

Hotel Martinez in Cannes: More glamorous than ever

Close to the Croisette, the famous boulevard of Cannes, Hotel Martinez opened in the 1920s. Interior designer and architect Pierre-Yves Rochon’s renovation of the luxury hotel was inspired by its seaside location. The colours of the Cote d’Azur, yachts in the bay and Art Deco glamour complete the new look of this legendary 5-star hotel. Blue and white dominate the 409 cocoon-like rooms and suites with a hint of teak in the furnishings, the colours of the beach. In the evening, as the sun glows gold, La Palme d'Or 2-star Michelin restaurant serves innovative and creative cuisine. And every Thursday is party night where jazz rules at the “Jardin du Martinez”, fun and fabulous.

Hotel Le Touring, Saint-Raphaël: Rebirth of a legend

Completely updated in Art Deco style, the 5-star hotel Le Touring channels the style of F Scott Fitzgerald who made Saint Raphaël the star of his novel The Great Gatsby. At Le Touring it’s easy to imagine the hero unpacking his suitcases in one of the ten elegant and refined bedrooms, sipping a cocktail in the cosy bar or indulging in Mediterranean dishes in the brasserie with its décor reminiscent of the Roaring Twenties.
