Wines from the Rhône

The soils of the Rhone valley benefited from intense volcanic activity 300 million years ago. Numerous metamorphoses of the territory followed, which profoundly transformed the composition of the soil. Today, limestone, granite, sandy silica and clay can be found there. This mother rock plays an essential role in the cultivation of vines, giving the wines of the Rhone a special aroma and taste.

In the 13th century, the notoriety of Rhone wines increased thanks to the different popes, who enjoyed them a lot. The launch of the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée in 1933 finally made its reputation. The valley of the Rhône deploys its vineyards over 6 departments. It draws its strength from the Rhone, which crosses its territory. Many varieties are produced in the region, both red and white, for everyone's pleasure. The region also benefits from numerous AOC and AOP labels such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise, Rasteau and Ventoux.
