Destination France 2015: A successful event!

The Atout France team would like to thank you for attending our Destination France roadshow. Each year, Atout France, and our partner Air France, look forward to welcoming you on this great annual gathering. Our "Be our Guest" theme was one way to highlight your loyalty to France as a tourist destination and show our heartfelt gratitude. As a matter of fact, in 2013, 1.4 million Canadian tourists and excursionists have chosen France — a record-breaking result! We are impatient to receive the update figures for 2014 and hope the 2-digit yearly increase will continue.

This year, 10 tour-operators have submitted outstanding France products to contend for the Product of the Year Award, which honours innovation and creativity in the programming. Subject to the choice of professionals, Insight Vacations and its product "Country Roads of France" won the trophy in Toronto.

Furthermore, congratulations to Sylvie Perron from Senior Tours Canada who is the lucky winner of our Travel Agents Challenge 2015! Sylvie won a pair of Air France tickets to the French destination of her choice!

This roadshow was also an opportunity for Atout France to present not-to-be-missed events in France this year, including:

  • France will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation (8 May 1945). The events marking the centenary of the Great War (1914-1918) will also continue on until 2018.
  • Le Mont St Michel is an island once again.
  • "David Bowie is" exhibition – 2 March to 31 May, Philharmonie de Paris
  • Jeff Koons – until 27 April at Centre Pompidou (Paris)
  • Degas et l’impressionnisme – 27 March to 19 July 2015, Musée des Impressionnismes de Giverny (Normandy)
  • Panorama XXL: a unique cultural programming in Rouen running until 2016, Normandy
  • Pont d'Arc Cave Opening, replica of the Chauvet Cave, Rhone Alps (April 25)
  • Opening of the Philharmonie de Paris designed by Jean Nouvel

Great top of mind ideas to help you design your clients’ trips to France!
