Amusement parks have a strong following in France, with a variety of theme parks existing for all tastes and ages:you can choose from history, culture, science, technology and more.

Parks for All Ages

Step into a fantasy world and meet characters from your animated Disney favorites, from Mickey Mouse and Cinderella to Buzz Lightyear. Excitement and magic await visitors young and old, and for those looking for an especially thrilling experience, you'll find Disneyland's signature attractions such as Space Mountain Mission 2, The Tower of Terror, and Indiana Jones' Temple of Doom.

And don't forget Walt Disney Studios Park, which will immerse you in the world of Hollywood glamour and television, with 3D attractions and chances to explore the magic of  Disney animation and see spectacular shows.

Asterix and Obélix, well-known characters from the French comic book of the same name, invite you to step into their world. Explore complex Gallic villlages and the Roman Empire, help conquer the Greek Army or go on a voyage with the Vikings.

And for adrenaline-seeking visitors, Astérix and Obélix invite you to visit The Thunder of Zeus (a roller coaster with a steep descent of over 30 meters), Goudurix (not for the faint of heart, a coaster with 7 loops), the new ride Oziris (which takes you on an 90 km/hour ride). The parks of  Walibi Rhône Alpes  and  Walibi Sud Ouest offer impressive rollercoasters, waterfall crossings, a 19th century themed ride, a 3D cinema and dozens of other attractions including the "Boomerang", a steel monster   that propels passengers at over 85 km/hour . This versatile park is ideal for family fun, with many attractions suitable for children,  but its more thrilling rides will also satisfy the appetites of adrenaline-seekers.


Cultural Parks

The Puy du Fou will take you back to the times of knights, vikings and the musketeers of Richelieu. With large-scale spectacles (such as Triumph's Sign and the Phantom Bird's Dance) and authentic villages (like the 18th century market town and the medieval city), the park takes visitors of all ages on a journey through history.

To complete your experience, don't miss the night show "Cinéscénie", a stunning symphony of light and sound.

The  Parc du Futuroscope propels you into the future with audiovisual projections and sensational robots . Innovative attractions are offered in giant screening rooms, including impressive 3D and 4D projections .

Discover prehistoric seabed relics,  works by Van Gogh, or dive into the world of Arthur and the Invisibles ... All in all, the park offers entertainment suitable for adults and children.

You can even immerse yourself in the magic of the night with the Futuroscope's new sound and light show "Lady O", a fairy-tale story recounted by Nolwenn Leroy (a French singer) that combines art and technology.  

 

Educational Parks

This park offers a unique look into the heart of Space. Embark on a spatial adventure, explore Mars and the rest of the solar system, or see real-life meteorites up-close.

Experience the wonders of the universe   with family or friends, through experiments, entertainment, a simulator that allows you to "walk on the moon"    and an animation show of "the vacuum of space."

The park also has a world just for kids,     rife with exploration that turns little ones into astronomers, astronauts and engineers!

Discover the hidden workings of volcanoes and the planet at this hub of learning and entertainment, which is appropriate for all ages.

The park has diverse activities such as the "Magma Explorer", which allows you to explore the heart of a volcano, and the "Earth Machine" (allowing you to experience the flow of lava and to discover the origins of the Earth.)

 

Zoos

PAL offers a unique experience, as it combines a zoo and an amusement park.

After going for a spin on one of the thrilling rides, like the Azteka, the Twist or the Suin Disc, visitors can behold the wonders of the 500 animals who call the park home. Some of the highlights include birds of prey, sea lions and parrots whose jokes delight audiences.

With an exceptional natural setting and the convenience of an inclusive ticket for both the zoo and the amusement park, PAL is certainly a hit among visitors.

The zoo at the Parc de Thoiry is home to animals who roam freely, or are semi-free to pass through its grounds. Explore the African reserve from your car and say hello to the elephants, giraffes and rhinceroses for a taste of the safari life right in France!

The park also has a more traditional zoo and a 126-hectare botanical gardin consisting of several themed areas: Autumn gardens, perfumes, an English garden, a maze, a rose garden and beds of flowers that are uniquely French.

For children, there are cabins reserved for learning about the environment throughout the park.

To round out your day, you can enjoy a guided tour of the park's château to learn more about the estate.

This natural reserve is located in a truly majestic part of France's landscape: in upper Grasse, an area whose land has remained practically untouched. It has an area of ​​100,000 hectares, characterized by a mosaic of heathland, forests and meadows at an average altitude of 1400 meters.

Bisons, Przewalski horses, elk, red deer and other wildlife and flora live freely in this reserve, a visit to which presents a unique chance to encounter varied wildlife and a beautifully diverse landscape.

Water Parks

On the program at this park are spectacular shows with dolphins, sea lions and orca whales. Get up close and personal with animals living underwater and on ice, with exhibits of tunnel sharks and wildife of Antarctica.

Looking for a fun way to cool down? Then visit the Aquasplash complex, with wave pools, giant slides and other water-based games and attractions.

Océanile, located on the Ile de Noirmoutier offers a whole avalanche of sensations: a wave pool, slides, lazy river, hot tubs, river rafting, a geyser, and a  waterfall, not to mention a water park just for kids.
