CroisiEurope on France’s rivers

The company

CroisiEurope is a family-run French company, created 37 years ago by Gérard Schmitter and today still owned and managed by his direct descendants.

Owner, operator and manager of all its vessels, over the years CroisiEurope has become the European market leader in river cruising, with 30 vessels operating on more than 15 rivers and along European coastlines, offering some destinations exclusively in the marketplace. This particular feature enables the company to offer products which are recognised both for their high quality and for their very attractive prices.

Today, CroisiEurope is an international company, with over 200,000 passengers travelling each year, 50% of whom are now international passengers.

River cruising – a different approach

The leisurely pace of river cruising allows travellers searching for meaning, tranquillity or enjoyment, to truly experience the culture of a region or a country. The landscapes change constantly as the cruise progresses, on these wonderful “floating hotels”, offering an escape and a complete change of scenery in a completely calm atmosphere.

As they have been built with people in mind, on a human scale, the vessels are of such a size that they are able to moor in towns, which allows the cruise passengers not only to take part in many excursions by coach but also to walk to visit the historic centres of the towns and cities. The maximum capacity on board of 100 to 200 passengers bestows a warm and convivial ambience on board, which makes it easier for passengers and crew to meet and exchange greetings with each other.

On the rivers of France

CroisiEurope is the company with the largest fleet of vessels in France: four vessels on the Seine, two on the Gironde, the Garonne and the Dordogne, three on the Rhone and a dozen on the Rhine.
