Welcome to the Loire Valley Orléans fr

Centre - Val de Loire

Centre-Val de Loire, only one hour from Paris, regroups five unique nature destinations: Val de Loire, Perche, Sologne, Brenne, and Orléans Forest. This environment, both wild and secretive, deserves to be explored by bicycle, via some of its 4,000 km of safe, sign-posted trails. Whether you choose an escapade to the vineyards, a river cruise, city break or cultural excursion, Centre-Val de Loire is full of surprises to help shape your holiday.

Five reasons to visit Centre-Val de Loire

  • La Loire à Vélo, France's first  fully-adapted and safe cycling route, reveals nature and culture as one, all along the shores of Europe's last wild river.
  • With 4,000 km of marked, secured trails, the Centre-Val de Loire is France's leading region for cycling tourism, with six major cycling routes (Saint-Jacques à Vélo, La Véloscénie…), and more than 130 themed itineraries.
  • La Brenne is a naturalist's paradise, with its 3,000 ponds influencing a remarkable flora and fauna, including some 150 species of birds.
  • Enjoy the Loire from another perspective: from aboard a canoe or traditional boat. The canoe is the ideal vehicle for exploring, in silence, some of the Loire's most beautiful scenery. Or embark on a traditional toue or fûtreau (two ancient vessels used on the Loire), and let yourself be informed and entertained by passionate local guides.
  • Perche and Sologne are ideal destinations for detox getaways. Immerse yourself in nature and do some Nordic walking amidst the forests and ponds, or go for a ride on a Percheron horse, emblematic beast of the Perche Regional Nature Park.

The Loir Valley

The Loir, just 40 km north of the Loire Valley, is the perfect off-the-beaten-path destination for countryside lovers. Treat yourself to a bucolic escapade in this discreet yet colourful valley, inviting with its authentic villages and pretty prairies, and bursting with opportunities for unique encounters.

Five reasons to visit the Loir Valley

  • Explore the Loir Valley by bike, on one of France's most charming routes. This 320 km-long circuit traverses the Jasnières vineyards before crossing more splendid landscapes, lakes, typical villages and troglodyte houses.
  • Very comfortable accommodation at good value for money.
  • Stray from the banks of the Loire to explore the smaller vineyards in the Loir Valley, where the climate, terroir and grape are ideal for wine production. Sharing the spotlight here: Coteaux du Loir and Jasnières (an AOC since 1937).
  • Visit spectacular châteaux and churches containing frescoes.
  • The Bercé Forest, one of the loveliest forests in France.
