"Revelations" New Year's Eve show in Marseille
At 7 p.m. on December 31st, 2013, Marseille's Old Port will set the stage for a show combining pyrotechnics, water sculptures and lights.
The show was produced by Groupe F, which creates multi-form work using land art, fireworks and open-air theatre. Featuring water, fire, music and storytelling, the Revelations are an epic saga crossing the Marseille-Provence region in 2013.
This last performance in a series of eight celebrates the end of the region's year as the European Capital of Culture. With monumental projections, luminous actors, pyrotechnical vessels and flaming beasts, it is sure to be a spectacular show!
In addition, the seventh episode of "Revelations" will take place the same evening at 6 p.m. in Istres, some 60 km northwest of Marseille.
- Marseille's Old Port will be open exclusively to pedestrians from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m, and therefore the public is encouraged to use public transportation instead of driving.
- Three viewing points will be found at the Pharo gardens, Esplanade Saint-Laurent and Esplanade Saint-Victor.
