"Rêve de couleurs" at the Notre Dame Cathedral of Reims
The city of Reims offers you an amazing imaginary journey through time.
"Rêve de couleurs" ("Colour-filled dream") is a very high definition, dynamic polychromic display that transforms the architecture by presenting the colours in their original state, down to the smallest details (precision of the expressions of every face).
On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the Notre Dame Cathedral of Reims in 2011, this 25-minute show put on twice an evening was a huge success. Indeed, this event provided a fantastic opportunity to highlight the cathedral and present it in the setting it deserves. So, after two new successful editions and backed by its success, "Rêve de couleurs" is once again being shown in 2014 tourist from 14 June to 28 September.
The Notre Dame Cathedral of Reims is one of the foremost pieces of Gothic art in Europe. This 13th century masterpiece, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is unique for its stylistic unity, its stained-glass windows and its statuary (“The smiling angel”). Following the baptism of Clovis in Reims in 498, the cathedral was the theatre of 25 coronations.
