RC Louvre in Lens
Founded in 1906, the Racing Club de Lens – commonly known as RCL – is the emblematic football club of the city.
Players and supporters alike go by the nickname “Blood and Gold” and are renowned for their incredible fervour.
The “RC Louvre” exhibition traces the history of this club, as well as that of the Bollaert-Delelis stadium, which stands alongside the museum and which can be seen from the glass pavilion. The museum also presents exhibits and stories relating to RC Lens football fans, brought together thanks to a collaboration between Louvre-Lens and the Musée national du Sport de Nice. This joint initiative is part of the events organised for the Euro 2016 football championships, as part of which both Lens and Nice are host cities.
