Clisson and Gétigné: between Brittany and Tuscany.
Clisson a Medieval historical crossroad became in the XIXè century after the destructions of the wars of Vendée, a landscape inspired by Italy. Two main sites of Loire-Atlantique area, extend the dream of an artist of the XIXth century F.F. Lemot.

  • Clisson castle: A medieval fortress synthesis of the defensive art of warfare since the XIIth century became a monumental folly in the centre of the landscape.
  • The Garenne Lemot estate in Gétigné, 13 hectare park with two model villas "the House of the gardener" and the "Lemot villa", two Italian styles which inspired the reconstruction around. The lower part is a romantic garden with multiple cultural and historic references.
  • Goulaine castle in Haute Goulaine. The last great castle of the Loire estuary before. The sumptuous rooms are among the most beautiful castles of the Loire. It also houses the official museum of the famous Nantes LU biscuits. It is the heart of the wetlands of Goulaine
