Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Ardèche riverthe former stronghold of the "Lords of Balazuc" has retained many traces of its medieval past.

Classified among France's most beautiful villages, Balazuc is located in the South of Ardèche in the Rhône-Alpes region.

  • The sarcophagus: a replica of the Gallo-Roman sarcophagus found in the hamlet of the Salles that is currently on display at the Museum of Gallo-Roman Civilization in Lyon.
  • The 12th century square donjon which houses an Information Point over the summer.
  • The picturesque hamlet of Viel Audon: accessible via a footpath (15 minute walk) along the Ardèche. It was just restored 35 years ago, breathing new life into the hamlet abandoned a century ago. . A shop is open year-round, offering products made ​​at the farm onsite: goat cheese, syrup and herbed salts, honey and more.
