A naturist family centre in the Alpes-Maritimes

In Briançonnet, a magnificent ancient Roman city in the Alpes-Maritimes in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, a little corner of paradise has existed for 30 years: Le Haut Chandelalar.

It’s a centre for couples and families with children (from infants to teenagers) who are looking for simplicity, warmth, comfort, calm and respect for nature and the environment.

Le Haut Chandelalar (with “Green Key” and “Quality Tourism” labels) is an 80-hectare forest estate in the Haut Pays de Grasse, with 10 hectares turned into a 3-star naturist campsite. 75 camping pitches and 10 chalets are spread out in the open, guaranteeing you space and tranquillity.

Recharge your batteries at nearly 1,000 metres above sea level, and enjoy a number of leisure activities for relaxation or for active family holidays.

Nature lovers (including those interested in silviculture) and hiking, canyoning and cycle tourism enthusiasts will love this centre and its surrounding area.

Natural and cultural escapades

Le Haut Chandelalar is situated at the heart of a highland region, known for its sunshine and rich in history (including villages fortified by Vauban), nature (mountain passes, the Verdon gorges, the Mercantour National Park and its 7 valleys) and culture (Grasse and its perfumeries ; Cannes and its Croisette; Nice and its Promenade des Anglais, and Cimiez museums including the Matisse museum; Monaco). It is an area which remains faithful to its traditions: patron saint festivals, which are unique to each village, and very colourful markets.

You can visit the “Tools and Traditions” museum in Briançonnet, where you will discover the culture of the highland region. The city has significant heritage, with a remarkable Roman church, a priory listed as a historical monument and the ruins of its feudal castle.

Make sure you sample some traditional Provençale cuisine, with its dominant flavours of garlic, olive oil and Provençale herbs, which will be cooked for you by the owners of Le Haut Chandelalar.
